The Friday market of Fujairah

We are on our way to the Hajjar Mountains for a 4wheel drive adventure. On the way we take a break for a sanitary stop and a visit to a local market called the Friday market. Again you see mountains here; it seems that Fujairah and Oman are for the majority of the land surface covered by mountains. We were expecting a market with vegetables and fruit. This was also available. There where greeneries who sold plants and brightly coloured cactuses in green, orange and red. We were impressed of the beautiful carpets but they did not fit into our suitcase. The people selling picture frames, mirrors and boxes displayed photo’s of the rulers of the Emirates, it is a custom you see often in the UAE. Like in Dubai, we were positively surprise of the friendliness of all Arab people we meet.
