Berlin Holocaust memorial to remember murdered Jews from all over Europe

You find this memorial at the Berlinerstrasse very close to the Brandenburgertor. The construction of this monument was controversial and an extremely sensitive subject for Germany. Let us all remember the victims of Hitler and reflect in peace between these 2.700 stone blocks. Some people just sit here to remember family and friends, others walk quietly in sadness. Under these blocks you find an information centre. We recommend you visit the memorial and reflect.

  2. I believe I have seen pictures of this years ago. Such a strange memorial!!! I mean strangely designed, I wonder what the reference is to this design?

  3. We must remember atrocities so that we don't repeat them. This memorial appears to be a quiet but somber reminder. Your photos of the pale gray stones with those lime-green trees as backdrop are wonderful.

  6. The shocking sight. I live in Oswiecim, near the former concentration camp of Auschwitz. As soon as you get close to this place, I still can not master the emotions.

  15. A sadly appropriate memorial of an event that has affected the whole world. I hope we never forget.
